Pacific Star Coro 2004

Pacific Star Charbera 2003

In 2000 Pacific Star joined with 8 other wineries to bring recognition to Mendocino County’s rich heritage of fine vineyards. Strict production protocol was developed to define a sophisticated blending program. Each winery’s blend is, by rule, based upon 40% to 70% Zinfandel and 9 other varietals can be added as components in lesser amounts – but all grapes must be grown in Mendocino County.

Sample blends are tasted blind 4 times during the development process and carefully scrutinized by the entire group of CORO winemakers; ultimately facing thumbs up or down by a 5-winemaker panel before passing muster as a CORO wine. A minimum of 25% new oak and an entire year in bottle results in individually fascinating wines with a familial thread running through.

With the June 07 release of the 2004 vintage, the most discerning press has high praise for the unique CORO project. The individual wines are acknowledged as appropriate for cellaring and, although in short supply, make a one-of-a-kind collection. Our CORO sells out quickly - please limit your purchase to three bottles so we can all enjoy its virtues.
